Description
Honored with the gold medal at the 2017 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and 94 points from the Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition, Encendio 2015 is masterful blend of Grenache and Tempranillo. With the intensity and depth of flavor only old vine grapes can produce, this unique red delighted us from the moment we tried it.
Encendio comes from the famed Campo de Borja wine region of Spain. Nestled between the Ebro River Valley and the Moncayo mountain range, Campo de Borja provides vineyards with a microclimate of remarkable versatility, This combination of centuries of winemaking expertise with verdant natural resources, produces some of the finest wines in all of Spain year after year for nearly a millennium.
A rich and vibrant wine, Encendio 2015 carries in it the prominence of this ancient region. Rose, cherry, and ripe plum predominate on the nose, supplemented by hints of strawberry jam and tomato, with additional hints of cloves. Fragrant and juicy, with a smooth finish, this rare wine will enchant you down to the last drop.
