Description
Christian Binner Schlossberg Alsace Grand Cru is crafted from Riesling grapes cultivated in the Schlossberg vineyard, the oldest and largest of Alsace’s 51 Grand Crus. Situated on steep, south-facing slopes, the vineyard’s granitic and sandy soils offer excellent drainage and poor water retention, fostering vines that produce grapes with remarkable finesse and concentration. Binner, a pioneer in natural winemaking, employs organic and biodynamic practices, allowing spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and minimal intervention. The wine undergoes extended aging in large, old Alsatian oak foudres, enhancing its complexity and depth while preserving the Riesling varietal’s purity and the Schlossberg terroir’s unique expression.
