Description
Gut Oggau Josephine Rot 2022 is a biodynamic red wine from the small village of Oggau in Austria’s Burgenland region. Crafted by Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe at their restored 17th-century estate, this wine blends Roesler with Blaufränkisch from 30-35 year-old vines grown on gravel and limestone soils. The grapes are hand-harvested and partially destemmed, with some whole bunches included. Gut Oggau Josephine Rot 2022 ferments spontaneously in used 500, 1000, and 1500-liter Austrian oak barrels, then ages for approximately 18 months before bottling unfined, unfiltered, and without added sulfites.
