The Four Roses 2015 Limited Edition Small Batch 108.6 Proof (54.3% ABV) is a non-chill filtered, barrel strength Kentucky straight bourbon produced at the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY. This release marked the final Limited Edition blend curated by retiring Master Distiller Jim Rutledge. The technical assembly is a marriage of three distinct recipes: a 16-year-old OBSK (35% rye, baking spice yeast), a 15 and 14-year-old OESK (20% rye, baking spice yeast), and an 11-year-old OBSV (35% rye, delicate fruit yeast).
Matured in specialized single-story rackhouses, this blend was engineered to emphasize the “K” yeast strain’s structural spice across both mash bills. The resulting chemical profile is defined by dense layers of ripe cherry, caramel, and warm rye spice, which are balanced by the 16-year-old wood tannins. The non-chill filtered presentation ensures a viscous mouthfeel that carries deep notes of toasted oak and dark chocolate through a long, technical finish.
