Description
Frank Cornelissen MunJebel Rosso CR is a red wine crafted entirely from Nerello Mascalese grapes. These grapes are sourced from the Contrada Campo Re vineyard, located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, at an elevation of 730 meters above sea level. The vineyard features deep volcanic soils, which, in humid vintages, can pose challenges for achieving full grape ripeness. The vines, averaging over 70 years in age, contribute to the wine’s depth and complexity. Fermentation utilizes indigenous yeasts, with an extended skin contact period of approximately 50 days. The wine is then aged for 18 months in neutral epoxy tanks, followed by an additional 18 months in bottle, ensuring a pure expression of its terroir.
