Description
Colonel E.H. Taylor Four Grain is a 100 proof (50% ABV) limited-release produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY. This expression features a distinct mash bill consisting of corn, rye, wheat, and malted barley, mirroring the four grains Taylor would have accessed in the late 18th century. Distilled in 2005 and entered into the barrel at 104 proof, the spirit underwent a 12-year maturation in federally bonded, century-old warehouses.
The technical profile is defined by an inviting aroma of sweet vanilla and caramel corn, with a complex palate that balances the spicy zing of rye against the mellow sweetness of wheat, leading to a long finish of oak tannins and warming cinnamon.
