Description
Les Tètes Pineau d’Aunis is crafted from the historic Pineau d’Aunis grape, also known as Chenin Noir, grown in biodynamically farmed vineyards in Touraine Azay-le-Rideau, Loire Valley. The four friends behind Les Tètes source grapes from clay-limestone soils enriched with flint, creating ideal conditions for this rare indigenous variety. Hand-harvested grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in concrete tanks, followed by minimal intervention winemaking with light filtration and trace sulfur additions. This produces an authentic expression of this medieval royal favorite at 10.5% alcohol.
