Tailored Republic 2018 Zinfandel Sonoma County, California

Description

Wine is not a thing that exists in a vacuum. There are trends, styles, and special projects that showcase different aspects of a wine. Zinfandel can be many things, but most often it’s spicy, jammy and simple. The Tailored Republic Zinfandel is not simple. It’s closer to the 100 Point Turley, than to a one-note spice-bomb. It’s big and powerful, but not cooked or jammy. The wine is cohesive and it’s apparent the fruit was grown on old vines and picked at the perfect time. The terroir shines through with raspberry and blackberry fruit playing off of notes like graphite, forest floor, and spice. This is a serious Zinfandel, that we would call seriously delicious. Judges love it too! It took home 92 points and a Gold Medal from the 2020 Toast of the Coast Competition.
