Description
Castello di Verduno Barbaresco Rabajà 2020 is a 100% Nebbiolo from the celebrated Rabajà MGA cru in the village of Barbaresco, Piedmont. The estate holds 1.23 hectares across two parcels in this south-southwest facing amphitheater, planted in 1974 and 1990, on calcareous clay soils at 240–300 meters above sea level. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel using a submerged-cap technique with 30–40 day macerations and native yeasts. Aging takes place in large Slavonian oak casks for approximately 24 months, followed by extended bottle aging before release. Certified organic. No fining, no filtration, minimal added sulfites. 14% ABV. Castello di Verduno Barbaresco Rabajà 2020 arrives from a vintage the Consorzio Barolo Barbaresco compared in quality to the widely acclaimed 2016.
