Released in 2017 to conclude a specialized three-part rye trilogy, this unique expression features a deliberate batching of the historical rye mash distillate originally utilized for the Master’s Collection Rye. The aged spirit was transferred to finish for three full years inside French oak casks.
These specific finishing barrels have an advanced wood history: they initially held Pinot Noir wine before being seasoned internally with standard Woodford Reserve Bourbon. This sequential interaction with French oak wood fibers and residual wine compounds isolates atypical fruity traits, adding tropical pineapple, brandied cherry, licorice root, cinnamon stick, and soft key lime pie to the final character.
