Šuman Sun Drops is a distinctive orange wine from Slovenia’s Podravje region, crafted by natural winemaker Radovan Šuman. This unique cuvée is an 11-variety white field blend, including grapes such as Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. The grapes undergo a one-month maceration on the skins, imparting the wine’s characteristic amber hue and complex flavor profile. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts, and the wine is aged in a combination of oak barrels and clay amphorae. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without added sulfur, Sun Drops embodies Šuman’s commitment to biodynamic principles and minimal intervention winemaking.
