Description
Where most producers treat Dolcetto as a simple early-drinking red, Roagna approaches it with the same rigor applied to their celebrated Barbarescos. Roagna Dolcetto d’Alba comes from vines at least 45 years old in the Pajé and Carso vineyards—the same prestigious Barbaresco sites that source the estate’s top Nebbiolo. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in large French oak casks extends far longer than typical for the variety, followed by approximately one year aging in neutral botti. Roagna Dolcetto d’Alba demonstrates that serious winemaking elevates even Piedmont’s most casual variety into something structured and age-worthy.
