Description
Alessandro Viola Blanc de Blancs NV is a traditional-method sparkling wine from the Terre Siciliane IGT, made from 100% Catarratto grown on the calcareous soils of Contrada Fastuchera, at approximately 400 meters elevation near Alcamo in northwestern Sicily. Vines were planted in 1998 and are farmed organically. Fermented with native yeasts, the wine undergoes second fermentation in bottle, then ages for a minimum of 20 months on lees before disgorgement. Released as Pas Dosé with under 2g/l of liqueur d’expédition, Alessandro Viola Blanc de Blancs NV is produced in around 3,000 bottles per vintage.
