This is The Gryphon at its best — the debut vintage of Louis M. Martini’s bold new flagship Cabernet, a wine that signals a return to the classic Napa style of the 1960s and 1970s: pure varietal character, fresh energy, and refined structure.
Sourced from premier vineyard sites across Napa Valley, this 2021 blend (91% Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec) was hand-harvested and aged in French oak, yielding a wine that’s both powerful and beautifully balanced.
In the glass: Deep garnet with an inviting bouquet of black cherry, cassis, and dark plum, accented by sage, iron, and subtle spice that evolves with each swirl.
On the palate: Rich layers of black fruit and cassis give way to notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and graphite, framed by polished tannins and a long, lingering finish that’s as sophisticated as it is approachable.
