Description
Márcio Lopes Laranja 2024 is a skin-contact white wine from Portugal’s Vinho Verde region. Made from 100% Loureiro grown on granitic soils in the Ponte de Lima sub-region, the grapes undergo six days of skin maceration before spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Márcio Lopes ages the wine in stainless steel with no added sulfites. The Atlantic climate brings cool temperatures and high humidity, preserving acidity while the extended skin contact builds texture. Laranja—Portuguese for “orange”—is part of the Pequenos Rebentos project Márcio Lopes founded in 2010 after training with Vinho Verde master Anselmo Mendes.
