WINEMAKER
The first permanent winemaker at the world-famous Chateau Petrus (whose wines often sell for over $3,000) Jean Claude Berrouet is truly one of the foremost masters of winemaking alive today. Teaming up with Fabián Valenzuela, who throughout his 30+ years of winemaking experience has some of the most impeccable credentials in the world, the two have decided to harness their combined expertise to create the high-quality wines unlike anything the world has ever seen before.
REGION:
Luján de Cuyo is a truly distinct appellation, and the perfect region to create wines with identity. Perched at 3100 feet above sea level in the High Valley of the Mendoza River, the Argelo and Perdriel districts are home to some of the oldest and most precious vineyards in the province.
These superb designations were chosen for their different geographical situations each with unique orientation and soil is located directly alongside the Mendoza River, which has left the vineyards with a light, silty soil abundant with surface stones that produce Malbecs with a red fruit profile and stony minerality. Agrelo is farther south from the river, and the denser clay soils result in darker grapes with concentrated flavors of black fruits.
TASTING NOTES:
Intensely ruby red in color with violet tones,in the nose the predominate aromas of this wine are of fruits of the forest such as raspberries and strawberries. In the mouth, it has dark plum and cherry fruit flavors with notes of dark cocoa, mocha, licorice -bodied wine with sweet, ripe tannins, this meat-friendly wine will keep you satisfied all the way through its smooth, balanced finish.
