Description
Yann Bertrand’s “Oh!…” Beaujolais Supérieur 2023 is a vibrant, natural red wine made from 100% Gamay grapes, sourced from an old parcel called Fond Chatonnes in Beaujolais. The vines are around 60 years old and planted on granite and clay soils. This wine is a tribute to Bertrand’s passion for traditional Beaujolais winemaking and the influence of natural wine pioneer Jules Chauvet, whose first cuvée was also named “Oh!”
The carbonic maceration method enhances the fruit-forward character of the wine, with fermentation taking place over 20-25 days. After fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in concrete tanks and bottled unfiltered in accordance with the lunar calendar, further emphasizing the natural approach. With no added sulfur, this wine showcases the pure essence of Gamay.
