Description
Frédéric Cossard’s 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Monts Luisants originates from a small parcel of 70-year-old Pinot Noir vines situated just above the Grand Cru Clos de la Roche in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. The vineyard’s limestone-rich soils and elevated position contribute to the wine’s elegance and complexity. Cossard employs organic and biodynamic farming practices, emphasizing minimal intervention. The hand-harvested grapes undergo whole-bunch fermentation with native yeasts, followed by aging in a combination of concrete eggs, earthenware jars, and Georgian qvevris. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
