About This Wine
Diatom by Winemaker Greg Brewer aims to capture Chardonnay in its purest and unadulterated form. The name is derived from diatomaceous earth, a fossil from oceanic terrain in Santa Barbara County. Our wines are driven by a desire for subtraction and refinement, like polishing a grain of rice until reaching its ultimate inner core. The Sta. Rita Hills marine landscape and our wines share a starkness, with a focus on recognizing and preserving the terroir with minimal disturbance or interference.
