Old Forester 2015 Birthday Bourbon is the fourteenth annual release in the brand’s vintage-dated series, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) and distilled at the Brown-Forman Distillery in Shively, Kentucky. The mash bill is Old Forester’s standard 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley.
Distilled on June 13, 2003 and aged 12 years in new charred American white oak barrels — uniquely matured in a single warehouse location, positioned near a window and adjacent to a heat-cycling duct. This exposure to elevated, fluctuating temperatures produced robust and intense wood-derived characteristics. At 100 proof, this is the first Birthday Bourbon ever bottled at this strength, setting a new high-water mark for the series.
