Description
Henri Chauvet Vie Ordinaire 2023 is a Pinot Noir from volcanic parcels in Boudes, Auvergne, where basalt and blue marl soils impart distinctive mineral character. Henri Chauvet whole-bunch ferments the grapes for approximately two weeks in stainless steel, then ages the wine nine months in a combination of older 228-liter barrels and larger 500-liter casks. Henri Chauvet bottles without fining or filtration, adding only minimal sulfites. The cuvée name—translating to “ordinary life”—belies the wine’s complexity, offering an Auvergnat interpretation of Pinot Noir shaped by volcanic terroir and careful élevage. Organic farming throughout.
