Barbera from the sandy soils of Lodi has a refreshing acidity, cranberry, and black cherry. Grenache from high elevation old vines in the Sierra Foothills produces small concentrated bunches of expressive, spicy, textural Grenache. Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley and Paso Robles tie these varieties together and provide richness. It feels like an Old World wine. We call it power and poise in a glass.
