François Chidaine Touraine Rouge 2023 blends equal parts Côt (Malbec), Cabernet Franc, and Pineau d’Aunis—three quintessential Loire varieties. François and Manuela Chidaine farm their estate vineyards biodynamically near Montrichard and Chissay-en-Touraine, just north of the Cher River, on clay-limestone soils. Fermentation and aging take place entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness and fruit. While François Chidaine is celebrated for his Montlouis and Vouvray Chenin Blancs, this Touraine Rouge showcases his skill with reds—light-bodied, juicy, and built for the table.
