Description
Buffalo Trace 2006 O.F.C. Old Fashioned Copper is a 90 Proof bourbon distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. This ultra-premium, museum-grade vintage expression pays homage to the historic Old Fashioned Copper Distillery founded by Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. in 1870. The production utilizes the distillery’s flagship Mash Bill #1, a low-rye recipe featuring corn, rye, and malted barley. Distilled in 2006, the spirit underwent approximately 18 to 19 years of uninterrupted primary maturation inside fire-charred new American oak barrels.
These select casks rested within the upper floors of Buffalo Trace’s historic brick and concrete warehouses, where extreme seasonal temperature shifts forced deep wood sugar extraction. Housed in a hand-cut crystal decanter inside a bespoke wooden display case, the near two-decade wood interaction yields a luxurious texture with notes of dark cherry cordial, vanilla bean, caramelized sugar, and highly structured, antique oak tannins.
