WhistlePig The Boss Hog XI ‘The Juggernaut’ is a 103.8–105.2 Proof (51.9–52.6% ABV) rare and highly sought-after cask-strength rye whiskey produced at the WhistlePig Farm in Shoreham, VT. This limited 2024 eleventh edition features a base of 100% straight rye aged for 13 years in new American oak before undergoing an experimental secondary maturation.
The spirit is finished in rare Thandai barrels, which previously seasoned the wood with a complex Indian blend of saffron, cardamom, black pepper, and almonds. This process utilizes intense wood interaction to bind traditional rye spice with deep, aromatic Vedic botanicals. The profile is characterized by a dense delivery of creamy saffron, toasted pistachio, and honeyed cardamom that transitions into a long finish of spicy black pepper and aromatic herbal tea.
