The cool nights allow the vines to rest from the daytime sunlight and help the grapes retain their acidity, one of the key elements of a well-structured wine. Bordeaux’s Merlot grape is right at home in these sandy soils, and its ability to thrive in the Columbia Valley helps produce an exceptional wine.

The Coat and Badge Merlot is a classic expression of the grape—earthy aromas of tobacco leaf and forest floor lead to a ripe and rich palate full of dark berries and Bing cherries.
