Description
Old Forester 2005 Birthday Bourbon is the fourth annual release in the brand’s vintage-dated series, bottled at 96 proof (48% ABV) and distilled at the Brown-Forman Distillery in Shively, Kentucky. The mash bill is Old Forester’s standard 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, though this vintage was produced using a different malted barley supplier than usual, resulting in a slightly lighter-bodied spirit.
Aged 12 years in new charred American white oak barrels on the 7th floor of Warehouse H, where elevated temperatures and dry conditions accelerated maturation and produced a higher-than-average angel’s share loss. Selected from a single day of production.
