Description
Podere Casaccia Sine Felle Vermouth Rosso begins with a base wine of Malvasia Nera and Canaiolo—indigenous Tuscan red grapes farmed biodynamically in the hills of Scandicci, just outside Florence. Roberto Moretti at Podere Casaccia fortifies this wine with an alcoholic infusion of herbs and spices following a traditional Piedmontese recipe. The vermouth contains no added sugars or caramel, setting it apart from most commercial examples. It remains unfiltered and rests several months in stainless steel before a brief bottle aging. At 18% alcohol, the result is a dry, aromatic vermouth that reflects the estate’s philosophy of minimal intervention.
