Description
Fabien Jouves Jour Fruit Cahors 2024 is a fresh, lithe expression of Malbec (locally called Côt) from the high-elevation slopes of Cahors in southwest into a long line of winemakers, Fabien Jouves enrolled at a winemaking school in Bordeaux, drove home every weekend to manage the vineyards and began converting them to biodynamic agriculture, earning Demeter certification by at the highest elevations of the Cahors appellation, the home of malbec in southwest France, the Jouves estate benefits from limestone-based soils and cool nighttime from 25-year-old vines grown biodynamically and harvested by hand, the grapes are destemmed and spontaneously fermented with ambient yeasts in neutral oak and cement after a 7-day maceration, then bottled without fining or filtration.
