Cantina Giardino Volpe Rosa 2022 showcases an ancient, nearly extinct grape: Coda di Volpe Rossa, a rare pink-skinned mutation found only in Campania’s Irpinia hills. Winemakers Antonio and Daniela De Gruttola source fruit from 75-year-old vines planted at 500 meters elevation on volcanic soils. The grapes undergo one day of skin maceration before pressing, followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Cantina Giardino Volpe Rosa 2022 then ages for twelve months in a combination of sandstone amphorae and concrete vats. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without added sulfites, this rosato reflects pure volcanic terroir.
