Description
Orphan Barrel Forager’s Keep is a 96 Proof (48% ABV) single malt Scotch whisky produced as a limited release from the Pittyvaich Distillery. This 2019 expression represents one of the final remaining stocks from the historic Speyside site, which operated for only 18 years before closing in 1993. Distilled from 100% malted barley, the liquid underwent 26 years of maturation in refill American oak hogsheads within the temperate Scottish climate.
This extensive aging in seasoned wood allowed the distillery’s characteristic oily texture to develop into a refined and elegant profile. The resulting spirit is sophisticated and bright, featuring initial notes of crisp red apple and orange zest that transition into a palate of golden syrup, vanilla custard, and a hint of white pepper with a long, warming oak finish.
