This February 2025 Distillery Series release is the highest-proof bottling in the brand’s history, consisting of a technical 12-year-old blend that evolved from the 2021 Chocolate Whisper expression. The liquid was distilled immediately following a run of chocolate malted rye bourbon, allowing the standard 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mash bill to capture residual phenolic compounds from the previous distillation.
Maturation occurred in heat-cycled stone warehouses, concentrating the spirit to near-hazmat levels while shifting the profile toward deep oak and cocoa. This non-chill filtered expression offers a structurally dense profile with technical notes of roasted coffee beans, cacao nibs, and dried cranberry, balanced by heavy oak tannins and a persistent, spicy finish of candied pecan.
