100% Syrah with vines from 63-125 years old!
The Dumaine family has resided in the village of Larnage since 1650. Today, Olivier and Maryline Dumaine work their parcels in the villages of Larnages and Saint-Jean-du-Muzols. Their Crozes-Hermitage and Saint Joseph are planted with ancient vines grown on granite hills, producing naturally low yields of concentrated, yet balanced wines.
Exuberantly fruity and redolent of smoke, spice and chocolate, this is a lavish but elegantly composed Syrah sourced from vines averaging over 50 years old. Matured 10 months in oak barrels (no new oak), it’s an open-knit, luscious wine layered with soft, chalky tannins that linger on the finish.
