47+ year old vines. Saint-Véran De Prisse a Chasselas comes from two plots located in places called Pré Jaux and La Rochette, whose terroir is made up of stony limestone. The majority of vines (80%) are over 50 years old. The wine is aged in tuns. Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau is a small estate run by two talented winemakers, Frantz Chagnoleau and his wife Caroline Gon (winemaker at Héritiers du Comte Lafon). “The 2022 Saint Veran Prelude is a blend of four warmer south-facing parcels, 60% in Priss, and 40% in Chasselas, matured for 12 months, 50% in stainless steel and 50% in demi-muids. This has just gone into its shell a little since I tasted it last year, light touches of white peach and hints of chalk. The palate is very well balanced. 13% ABV
