Description
100% Gamay à Petits Grains, a variety indigenous to the northern Mâconnais region.
Established in the 1950s as a purely biodynamic operation over 7 hectares. Biodynamic for fifteen years anywhere would be a feat; to be biodynamic and sans-soufre for 70 YEARS in Burgundy is rare as rare gets. Light ruby with hints of orange at the rim. Intense aromas of red berries, redcurrant, raspberry, jammy dark cherries, and earthy notes. It also displays hints of iron, cedar, and smoky minerality. Described as a “serious bottle of gamay,” with a velvety, silky, and elegant texture. It features a complex blend of red fruit (cherry, strawberry), underripe fruit tones, and a strong “iron backbone”. 13.5% ABV
