William Heavenhill 8th Edition Small Batch Bottled in Bond 13 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey is locked at exactly 100 Proof by Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Released in 2020, this eighth small-batch installment utilizes the distillery’s customary bourbon mash bill containing 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley. Conforming strictly to the regulatory parameters of the 1897 Bottled-in-Bond Act, the liquid was distilled during a single season at a single distillery plant.
The expression underwent its complete 13-year primary maturation cycle inside 35 fire-charred new American white oak barrels resting on the 4th floor of Rickhouse AA in Schenley. The long-term exposure to natural atmospheric changes allows the spirit to extract compounds deeply from the wood grain. This slow aging processes a highly structured, oil-rich mouthfeel displaying concentrated vanilla bean, toasted hazelnuts, old leather, dark caramel, and a warm, dry oak spice finish.
