Booker’s Donohoe’s Batch 6 Year is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Released as Batch 2021-01 and bottled at 125.3 proof, this uncut, unfiltered Booker’s release is part of the named-batch series Master Distiller Fred Noe oversees.

Master Distiller Fred Noe selected the batch from four different rack-houses, aged 6 years, 11 months and 4 days. This batch is named honoring Mike Donohoe, a retired Jim Beam employee who was good friends with Booker Noe. Mike played an important role in the inception of the brand, and without him Booker’s Bourbon wouldn’t exist today.

Per Fred Noe’s notes, on the nose, it shows vanilla, caramel and “”sweet brown”” wood sugar flavors. The palate brings unique, yet unmistakably Booker’s Bourbon, and the finish carries pleasant, warm. The pour shows Booker’s darkest, deepest amber and henna color.

A 2021 Booker’s release, this named batch is closely tracked by collectors building a complete Booker’s run. Bottled at full barrel strength with no chill filtration, it rewards a few drops of water and drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
