Description
The Macallan Whisky Maker’s Edition is a 85.6 Proof (42.8% ABV) centerpiece of the 1824 Collection, crafted at the Macallan Distillery by former manager Bob Dalgarno to showcase the house’s precision in cask selection. This Highland Single Malt is matured in a dual-cask marriage of European and American oak, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Jerez, Spain. This specific “Propeller Plane” limited edition features X-ray photography by British artist Nick Veasey, celebrating the golden age of 1930s travel through a technical, transparent lens.
The maturation process in Speyside’s temperate climate allows for a dense integration of wood spice and rich dried fruit esters without the use of chill filtration. The final profile is defined by high-viscosity oily textures, baked ginger, and a lingering, faint trace of peat smoke.
