Description
Old Forester 2003 Fall Release Birthday Bourbon is the second of two Birthday Bourbon vintages issued in 2003, bottled at 89 proof (44.5% ABV) and distilled at the Brown-Forman Distillery in Shively, Kentucky. The mash bill is Old Forester’s standard 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Aged 13 years in new charred American white oak barrels.
This batch is thought to be matured in a low heat-cycling warehouse zone on lower, cooler floors with no exposure to rising heat or direct sunlight, producing a softer and less sweet character. At 89 proof, this is the lowest-proof Birthday Bourbon ever released commemorating founder George Garvin Brown’s birthday.
