Midleton Very Rare 2010 80 Proof (40% ABV) is a technical annual vintage release from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. This expression is a marriage of triple-distilled single pot still and single grain whiskeys aged between 12 and 28 years. Maturation occurs in hand-selected, lightly charred American oak ex-bourbon barrels, which facilitate a slow extraction of vanillin and toasted wood sugars.
The resulting chemical profile is uniquely defined by delicate top notes of rose water and succulent baked apples, which integrate with deep layers of honeyed melon, cinnamon, and cloves.
