Woodford Reserve 2019 Distillery Series Double Double Oaked Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 90.4 Proof by the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky. This specific 2019 labeled batch was bottled in late 2019 but delayed in distribution, ultimately making its commercial debut in early January 2020. It utilizes the distillery’s core 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mash bill.
After 5 to 7 years of primary aging in charred new oak within heat-cycled brick warehouses, the liquid undergoes a specialized secondary maturation. Unlike standard Double Oaked which sits in a heavily toasted, lightly charred secondary barrel for one year, this expression remains in the finishing barrel for 24 months. This extended contact time isolates dry oak tannins, concentrated clove, and intense dark chocolate notes.
