This technical masterpiece is a complex marriage of four distinct recipes curated by Master Distiller Brent Elliott: a 12-year-old OESV, a 14-year-old OESK, a 16-year-old OESV, and a rare 25-year-old OBSV. By blending these specific yeast strains and mash bills, the distillery engineered a profile that balances vibrant, youthful fruit with the deep, structural tannins of quarter-century-old stock.
Produced at the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY, this release highlights the versatility of the brand’s 10-recipe system. The technical maturation occurred in the distillery’s unique single-story rackhouses, which promote a steady, even interaction with the oak staves. The resulting chemical profile is defined by dense esters of honey, white flowers, and rye spice, layered over a rich foundation of cocoa and old oak. The mouthfeel is remarkably velvety, culminating in a long, elegant finish of cinnamon and baked apple.
