Description
New Holland Brewing presents this 100 proof (50% ABV) straight bourbon whiskey, distilled and aged in Holland, Michigan. The spirit follows the high-malt Origin mash bill (70% corn, 25% malted barley, 5% rye) and undergoes initial maturation in new charred American oak barrels within a climate-controlled rackhouse. This limited 2025 “Black Dragon” edition features a secondary finishing period in select mead casks.
Technically, the mead influence introduces specific wine-like tannins and floral honey compounds that interact with the bourbon’s existing vanillins. The final profile is defined by bananas foster, toffee, and toasted oak, with a heavy mouthfeel resulting from the 100-proof bottling strength.
