Akkeshi Sarorunkamuy Single Malt Japanese Whisky: This particular expression, named “Sarorunkamuy” (Ainu for the red-crowned crane), was the distillery’s first single malt release aged for more than three years.
- Nose: Refined and elegant with notes of red fruits, roasted malt, and hazelnut crème brûlée.
- Palate: A creamy, generous palate featuring candied fruits, dark chocolate, and sea salt, balanced by spices like cinnamon and sansho pepper.
- Finish: Sweet and lingering with vanilla, white pepper, and orange peel accents.
- Cask Maturation: Matured in a combination of Hokkaido Mizunara oak, ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and ex-red wine barrels.
- ABV: Varies by release, with some at 55% ABV and others at 58% ABV.
