Description
Barbacan Jazpemi Valtellina Superiore is crafted from 100% Chiavennasca (local name for Nebbiolo) grapes from the single Jazpemi vineyard in Valgella, Valtellina. This vineyard, planted in the 1930s, sits on steep slopes at 490-560 meters elevation. Produced by Angelo Sega and his sons Luca and Matteo, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with 4 months skin contact in concrete and stainless steel, followed by 1 year aging in large oak barrels and 9 months in concrete. Bottled unfined, unfiltered with no added sulfites.
