Our Bonfilia — meaning “good daughter” — Sangiovese captures the flavor of Italian history, having been crafted from one of Italy’s oldest grape varieties. This rustic wine is savory, with an enticing earthiness and lively acidity countered by subtle red fruit flavors. The Puglia IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) makes up the heel of Italy’s boot. Here, the hot Mediterranean climate is moderated by the cool, crystal blue waters of the Adriatic and Ionian seas. These conditions nurture the development of Sangiovese’s fresh red fruit flavors while conserving its naturally high levels of acidity.
