Description
Booker’s Bluegill Creek 6 Year is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Released as Batch 2016-04 and bottled at 128 proof, this uncut, unfiltered Booker’s release is part of the named-batch series Master Distiller Fred Noe oversees.
Master Distiller Fred Noe selected the batch from four different rack houses, five different production dates, aged 6 years, 5 months and 28 days. Per Fred Noe: “”When I was selecting this batch, the hot and humid Kentucky summer weather reminded me of the days Dad and I spent together on the water.”” Booker’s is always bottled uncut, unfiltered, and at barrel proof.
Per Fred Noe’s notes, on the nose, it shows deep and complex with vanilla, nuts and oak. The palate brings robust vanilla and caramel notes, slightly smoky, and the finish carries long and full, perfect for easygoing sipping. The pour shows Booker’s darkest, deepest amber and henna color.
A 2016 Booker’s release, this named batch is closely tracked by collectors building a complete Booker’s run. Bottled at full barrel strength with no chill filtration, it rewards a few drops of water and drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
