Description
Booker’s Sip Awhile 6 Year is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Released as Batch 2017-04 and bottled at 128.1 proof, this uncut, unfiltered Booker’s release is part of the named-batch series Master Distiller Fred Noe oversees.
Master Distiller Fred Noe selected the batch from across three different rack-houses, aged 6 years, 8 months, 14 days. As the fourth and final batch in the Booker’s 2017 Collection, this release pays tribute to Booker’s keenness to take life day by day, while appreciating all the moments in between.
Per Fred Noe’s notes, on the nose, it shows sweet aroma of vanilla with some caramel. The palate brings deep and complex, vanilla, nuts and oak, robust vanilla and caramel, slightly smoky, and the finish carries long and full, perfect for easygoing sipping. The pour shows Booker’s darkest, deepest amber and henna color.
A 2017 Booker’s release, this named batch is closely tracked by collectors building a complete Booker’s run. Bottled at full barrel strength with no chill filtration, it rewards a few drops of water and drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
