Description
Booker’s Boston Batch 6 Year is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Released as Batch 2020-02 and bottled at 126.5 proof, this uncut, unfiltered Booker’s release is part of the named-batch series Master Distiller Fred Noe oversees.
Master Distiller Fred Noe selected the batch from across different rack-houses, aged 6 years, 3 months and 10 days. As the second release in the Booker’s Bourbon 2020 Collection, this batch is named after the production site where Booker Noe first started his distilling career.
Per Fred Noe’s notes, on the nose, it shows vanilla, toasted nuts, hints of baking spices. The palate brings full, deep and complex, vanilla, nuts and oak, robust vanilla and caramel, slightly smoky, and the finish carries long and full, can be enjoyed neat. The pour shows Booker’s darkest, deepest amber and henna color.
A 2020 Booker’s release, this named batch is closely tracked by collectors building a complete Booker’s run. Bottled at full barrel strength with no chill filtration, it rewards a few drops of water and drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
