This marks Breaking Bread’s debut vintage of Cabernet Franc. The inspiration behind this endeavor was to craft a wine reminiscent of the Chinon style—light, fresh, and approachable. Fermented whole cluster in open-top fermenters and subsequently aged in 100% neutral French oak barrels for seven months, this wine boasts a flinty aroma complemented by dusty cherry notes and a herbaceous finish. It proves to be an excellent companion to savory stews and comfort foods, showcasing its versatility as an ideal food pairing. While capable of complementing heartier meat dishes, it maintains a delicate balance that won’t overpower more nuanced seasonal fare.
